For preparation within 24 hours: Soak dry sea cucumber in pure water for 3 hours. Cut open sea cucumber, remove teeth, clean any traces of sand and seashells from within the gut cavity. Simmer on low heat covered for 15 minutes. Turn off heat. Allow to sit for at least 3 hours or until cold. Place in bowl of fresh water and refrigerate overnight. Eat, or soak for an additional day to increase size.
